Pronunciation guide for Mandarin Chinese
This is not a complete list of all pronunciation but will allow you to say the Chinese words in the site. All other letters in the Chinese words are pronounced the same as in English.

Consonants:

c Like 'ts' in bits
j Like 'g' in genius
q Sounds like 'ch'
x Like 's' in sock
z Like 'ds' in suds
zh Like 'j' in judge

Vowels:
a Sounds like 'aah'
ai Like 'i' in bite
ao Like 'ow' in cow
e Like 'ur' in blur
ei Like 'ei' in weigh
i Like 'ee' in meet.
Except after c, ch, r, s, sh, z and zh when it sounds like 'e' in her.
ianSounds like 'E.N.' ('ee' and 'en' sounds running together)
oLike 'or' in swore
ouLike 'o' in Jo
uLike 'oo' in boo
uiLike 'way' in sway
uoSounds like 'war'
